Quads - Leg Extensions
Leg extensions are like bicep curls for your legs. They’re the best way to start getting those thighs in shape, and strong thighs are the first step to a strong body! Facts About Leg Extension Exercise

Facts:

  • Compound Exercise

  • Main muscle targeted – Quadriceps

Male | Female

Method:

Select the appropriate weight. You can get a little ambitious here, but don’t put too much on. Sit down on the seat. Some machines have a back pad, others are just an add-on to a bench and can be loaded with weight plates. The motion is the same for both machines. Put your instep behind the foot rolls. With your toes pointed up, raise your legs until they’re horizontal. Hold for a moment, then control the movement back to the starting position.

Why it’s good:

With this exercise, you can focus on the thighs and see how they’re flexing. It can be pretty encouraging to see the improvements.

What to watch out for:

Be careful with the pressure on the knee. If it hurts in the joint, stop immediately.
